SIKA-B elements are produced from sintered spherical Bronze powder by the gravity sintering technique. Shape, size and distribution of the powder particles are important parameters which effect the properties of a high porosity sintered material from Bronze. The pore size is made to measure from 8 µm to 200 µm. Sintering gives the high porosity material its shape-stability and properties of a metallic strong component. SIKA-B materials are used as self-supporting constructional elements. Sintering turns SIKA-B elements into dimensionally stable, metallically strong components which can be used as self-supporting constructional elements. The pores are fixed in terms of size and position.

Chemical Resistance and Thermal Stability

As a general rule, the chemical and thermal characteristics of sinter metals are the same as those of the solid materials used.. However, the size of the specific surface area should be taken into account when assessing the chemical properties of any high-porosity component (sinter metal). SIKA-B is manufactured from sinter bronze, CuSn 10 according to DIN 30910.
